Lynne Brown

Lynne Brown

Lynne is the founder and CEO of Perspective2. Born in Ohio, raised in Mid-Michigan. Lynne’s photographic interest was sparked at an early age by her grandmother Bertha Brown. Bertha not only shot photographs in the early 1900s with large bellows cameras, but developed the glass plates in her family’s outhouse. Cameras were always in use in the Brown household. In her teens, Lynne used her father’s 35mm Pentax and became Haslett High School’s chief photographer and yearbook editor. She also freelanced for local newspapers and sports teams.

At the age of 18, Lynne began working at Linn Camera Shop in Lansing and continued her photographic interest by enrolling in Lansing Community College’s Photo program. On completion of the program, Lynne took a Management position in Flint at the Quarry Photo where she became a Certified Photographic Counselor and then took an opportunity to open and manage a store in Beverly Hills, California.

After 6 years of retail camera store management, Lynne returned to the Lansing area and completed her companion degree in Graphic Design at MSU and started Media Graphics, Inc., a successful graphic design and publishing company.

In the last 7 years digital technology has greatly changed how we take photographs and how many people have access to image making, Lynne wanted to open the doors of the digital studio photographic experience to others that love photography. The idea of Perspective2 was born. Perspective2 offers two large unique studios where photography, photographers, equipment, ideas and people connect to create artistic energy and images.

Matthew Schulert

Matthew Schulert

Matthew holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Professional Photographic Illustration from New York’s Rochester Institute of Technology. A native Grand Ledge resident, Matthew’s love of photography began early on when he started experimenting with his mother’s Olympus OM-10. After college Matthew returned to the Lansing Area where he worked as a freelance photojournalist at the Lansing State Journal. He has been published as a feature photographer for GLWoman magazine, Greater Lansing Parent and NOISE.

Matthew specializes in commercial and editorial still life as well as architectural interior photography. His use of light, detail and styling make an ordinary object appealing.

In addition to photography Matthew is an avid runner and has completed three consecutive marathons. He is also involved musically in the community and can be seen singing and performing in plays and musicals.

At perspective2 Matthew’s knowledge of the art and business of photography allows him to assist members with many of their photographic needs. In addition, Matthew will be photographing commercial and personal work from time to time in the studios at perspective2.

Paulette Bolofer

Paulette Bolofer

Paulette holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Bachelor of Arts in Apparel & Textile Design from MSU. Born in the Philippines and raised in Detroit, Paulette’s artistic curiosity began on the island of Bohol where she was surrounded by a family of artists. Her interest in photography came about in middle school on her first trip back to the Philippines. She hadn’t been back in 5 years and wanted to capture memories of her family and the essence of the place she called home for the first few years of her life. When she returned from her trip she purchased a cheap 35mm Kodak camera with her birthday money and began taking pictures of any and everything she thought was interesting. She purchased a point-and-shoot Sony digital camera during college and continued to take photographs but never took formal classes. Being around and assisting Lynne and Matt with shoots have allowed her to learn more about equipment and the technical aspects of photography. Although she is very much an amateur, her knowledge of the human body’s movement and eye for detail has allowed her to offer a unique point of view at perspective2.

Besides being creative, Paulette enjoys dancing and playing with her pomerian/pitbull “puppy”, Chevy. Paulette has played volleyball since middle school and continues to participate in leagues and travels around the Midwest to participate in tournaments.
